ProblemRadar ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by andworks GmbH and provides a platform to collect and display community-submitted problems. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Privacy First: We prioritize your privacy. Problem submissions are completely anonymous with no personal information required. We cannot and do not link newsletter subscriptions to problem submissions.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Problem Submissions: When you submit a problem, we collect:
- The problem description text (up to 750 characters)
- Submission timestamp
- A unique deletion token for removal requests
Newsletter Subscriptions: If you subscribe to our newsletter:
- Email address
Automatically Collected Information
Technical Data: For security and rate limiting purposes:
- IP address
- Session identifiers
- User agent (browser and device information)
- Interaction timestamps
Cookies: We use session cookies to maintain your browsing session and preferences (including language selection).
Analytics: We use Fathom Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how visitors use our website. Fathom collects anonymized data without using cookies or tracking personal information.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for:
- Service Operation: Displaying community problems, processing submissions, and enabling problem deletions
- AI Processing: Using OpenAI services to validate and classify problems, detect language and translate problems. Only the problem text is sent—no personal information or identifying data is shared with OpenAI
- Rate Limiting: Preventing spam and abuse using temporary session and IP tracking
- Newsletter: Sending updates to subscribers (managed via Mailcoach). Newsletter emails are completely separate and cannot be linked to problem submissions
- Security: Monitoring for errors and system issues via Nightwatch
- Analytics: Understanding site usage through privacy-focused Fathom Analytics
Data Retention
- Problems: Stored until you delete them using your unique deletion URL, or until we remove them for violating our terms
- Sessions: Stored for 120 minutes of inactivity
- Rate Limiting Data: Temporary, automatically expires after 24 hours
- Newsletter Subscriptions: Stored until you unsubscribe
Third-Party Services
We use the following services that may process your data:
- OpenAI: Problem text only (no personal information) for language detection, translation, and content validation
- Mailcoach: Email addresses for newsletter management only
- Mailgun: Email delivery service used to send newsletters (works with Mailcoach)
- Nightwatch: Error and performance monitoring
- Fathom Analytics: Privacy-focused website analytics (GDPR-compliant, no cookies, no personal data tracking)
Each service has its own privacy policy governing data handling.
Data Security
We implement security measures including:
- Secure HTTPS connections
- Encrypted database connections (PostgreSQL)
- Rate limiting to prevent abuse
- Secure session management
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Delete Your Problem: Use the unique deletion URL provided after each submission
- Unsubscribe: Click the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or contact us directly
Important Note: Due to our privacy-first design, we cannot identify which problems belong to which users. We have no way to retrieve, export, or delete problems without the unique deletion URL provided at submission time.
Anonymous Submissions
Problem submissions are completely anonymous:
- No account, email, or name required
- No connection between newsletter subscriptions and submitted problems
- Only temporary technical data (IP address, session ID) stored for 24-hour rate limiting
- No personally identifiable information (PII) is sent to OpenAI or other third parties
- We cannot identify who submitted which problem
International Data Transfers
Our services are hosted in the EU (primary region). Data processed by OpenAI may be transferred internationally according to their privacy policy.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The "Last Updated" date indicates when changes were made. Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
